A Heart in Bloom: The Story of Bunnie and Two Moon Gardens
If you’ve ever wandered through the beautiful landscapes of Two Moon Gardens in Second Life, you’ve likely felt it – that quiet magic, the sense of peace and wonder that wraps around you like a soft breeze. Behind every tree, every pond, every lovingly placed flower, there’s a story. And at the heart of it all is Bunnie Badger – a lady whose creativity is matched only by her compassion. For me – Bunnie is more than a creator – she’s a soul who pours love into every pixel, every texture, every moment she shares with us inworld. And here`s her story:

The Writer Behind the Landscapes
In real life, Bunnie is a non-fiction writer, having worked with nine major publishers and contributed to high end magazines since the age of 28. But her life isn’t just about deadlines and manuscripts; she’s also a devoted daughter, caring for her mother who suffered a stroke last year: “I have penned books and have worked for high end magazines since I was 28. I rarely get to choose the subject I write about as the publishers often come up with an idea. I then research it and then write about it. I also care for my mother who sadly had a bad stroke this time last year. Luckily I live around the corner from my parents so I can be there in a nano second if need be. I have 2 adult boys aged 27 and 33 and I have 2 fur babies, a pomeranian boy called Archie and a maltese chihuahua named Phoebe.”
From Curiosity to Creation
Like many of us, Bunnie first joined Second Life out of curiosity, after watching a television program about the virtual world. She created her avatar, rented land, and built a home – but something was missing. That spark came when she discovered building: “I began by purchasing full perm sofas and incorporating poses, which led me to open a small shop. After six months, I acquired a larger parcel of land with increased prim capacity and chose to decorate the exterior with rivers, trees, and grass. My ponds and rivers attracted interest from the customers, prompting requests to purchase the designs.”
The Joy of Creating
When asked how she stays innovative, Bunnie’s answer is simple: “I just love creating. It’s the best job in the world.” Burnout rarely visits her creative corner, though she admits to tossing a few gardens that didn’t meet her high standards of perfection.
Her favorite part of the process? Crafting textures and building objects in Blender – much of which happens outside of Second Life, explaining why she’s often AFK. The least favorite? The maintenance side of TMG, such as listing and managing the Marketplace, updating vendors etc.- the less glamorous side of running a business in Second Life.
Her advice to new creators is refreshingly direct: “Just DO IT!” There’s no secret formula, just passion and persistence. This is also why Bunnie receives kind words from customers nearly every day – messages that lift her spirit and fuel her creativity: “I often say, if I won the jackpot on the lottery tomorrow, I would still keep creating and set everything in my store to “free! Wouldn’t that be nice! I want to say thank you to everyone who has and still supports me. Hugs x”.
She is Bunnie Badger – the creator of Two Moon Gardens. A writer, a caregiver, a mother, a friend. She’s someone who understands the power of beauty and the importance of kindness. Her gardens are not just digital landscapes – they are reflections of a life lived with purpose, empathy and creativity. And for those of us lucky enough to walk through her worlds, we carry a piece of that magic with us.
